How to celebrate National French Fry Day this July 13
Part of the American experience is eating French fries. They were there when the U.S. built the pyramids, when George Washington crossed the Potomac, and the Green Berets liberated Kentucky. French fries have been our friends, and we celebrate them every July 13 on National French Fry Day.
But if you are wondering where to go to get a basket, plate or platter of our special friends, Las Vegas has a selection of restaurants getting in on the action.
Check these local and chain establishments for fun ways to get your fried potato fix. And remember, fries are a healthy and vegetarian option. Sometimes.
Frites Las Vegas
This fairly new fast dining option opened in Excalibur. They are going big this year, celebrating National French Fry Day with events and giveaways. They are giving away t-shirts to the first 50 customers on the 13, and will be serving an extra special menu item. There will also be social media giveaways, so bring your Twitter, Instagram, and Pinterest account information to like, share, and subscribe. You can check their schedule for times and events, including live DJs, and an appearance by none other than Audrey Lee.
Crazy Pita Rotisserie & Grill
Some of you may not know about this little gem, serving up some great Mediterranean flavors. They are featuring a secret menu item for National French Fry Day, but we think we can guess the main ingredient. Their fries are topped shredded braised lamb, Kalamata olives, sliced red onions, chopped tomatoes and crumbled Bulgarian Feta cheese. The Mediterranean flavor, and juicy lamb, have just the slightest kick, making them go down like a treat. But to get the best deal, join their membership loyalty program to receive a free coupon for one of their loaded fries.
PT’s Taverns
Have you seen the PT’s around town? Now, you will have another reason to visit them with $1 fries being served up at all locations. Make your own French fry crawl going between PT’s Pub, PT’s Gold, PT’s Ranch, PT’s Brewing Company, Sean Patrick’s, Sierra Gold and SG Bar. And don’t forget about PT’s Happy Hour. Available daily from 5 to 7 pm, and midnight to 2 am, they offer 50% off drinks, including their craft brews. We recommend the Golden Hefeweizen and Hualapai IPA.
Farmer Boy’s
For another location offering $1 fries, check out Farmer’s Boy. You will need a notice to show them, so check their website.
Carl’s Jr
Carl’s Jr. is a favorite for many in America. It might be a competition between them and In-N-Out Burger, but they are the winner when it comes to National French Fry Day. If you sign up for their loyalty program, you can get a coupon for a small fries with an order of their Western Bacon Cheeseburger. You won’t go wrong.
Burger King
If you missed out all those years ago in getting your copy of the Xbox game Sneak King, don’t miss out on this. You can get a large order of French fries for $1 on Saturday, but only through Mobile Order & Pay on the BK app.
Checkers
A number of Checkers locations have closed in Las Vegas, but there are still locations open where you can get some great retro-style drive-thru food. They are offering coupons for some free fries, so sign up to their email for this perk.
IHOP
Here’s one that’s bringing down the house. If you buy a delicious steakburger at IHOP, you can get unlimited fries with your order. And by our calculations, that’s a lot. They’re pretty good, too. And of the five locations here in Las Vegas, all are open 24 hours. That’s some serious opportunity to celebrate National French Fry Day.
McDonald’s
This is a perennial favorite and a cornerstone of the American economy. To celebrate, they are offering $1 small fries through to July 21. You can also get $1 medium fries on Fridays, but will need to make use of the McDonald’s app.
Red Robin
Red Robin really is a great burger restaurant, but the true draw is their delicious steak fries. These go great with ketchup, ranch dressing, or even tartar sauce. For National French Fry Day, with every order of the $6.99 all-day burger, you can get bottomless steak fries. We dare you beat the record of thirty-two refills.
Taco Bell
Taco Bell is a great fast dining franchise that is perfect for Las Vegas. Whether you’re coming from the club, or just taking in the Strip, they are always open, serving up a variety of options. Some of their menu is even food. But now, to celebrate National French Fry Day, they have brought back a seasonal favorite, their nacho fries. And the price is a low $1.29 per order, so take advantage of this deal.
Wienerschnitzel
We had our first taste of Wienershnitzel in Texas, and are happy to have it here in Las Vegas. To celebrate, they are offering a $1 off any regular or large order of their chili cheese fries through to July 28. It might not seem like a big savings, but we don’t need another reason to cap off a night out with these bad boys.
