Construction for Golden Knights arena commences

— Staff Writer

The Henderson Convention Center is being demolished to make room for a new NHL facility to serve the Golden Knights. Scheduled to open in July 2020, the building is expected to be called Vegas Golden Knights at Henderson.

Practice will continue at the City National Arena, but the new facility will provide additional youth hockey programs.

Sporting two NHL-sized rinks, a restaurant overlooking the ice, and improved services, the new facility will serve the growing community of Henderson.

This expansion into Henderson continues the Golden Knight’s objective to reach all of Southern Nevada. If it is a success, they expect to build additional facilities throughout the state.
