Hello Kitty Café opening in Las Vegas

— Staff Writer

Have you heard the good news? You’ve been whispering rumors about a Hello Kitty Café opening here in Las Vegas. Now we know for sure there’s yet another reason that Las Vegas will remain competitive with South Korea, Australia, and Orange County, California.

Earlier this week, officials confirmed the restaurant will be opening July 12. This leaves plenty of time for Kitty White’s birthday on November 1.

During the Foodbeast Katchup Podcast, restaurateur Andy Nguyen mentioned his lead role in the project, and officially announced they would open their doors at MGM’s The Park Vegas, between the newly redone Park MGM (the former Monte Carlo) and MGM’s NY, NY.

And that without having paid Vegas Strip prices! I give the dedication 5/5.

You know The Park Vegas as the outdoor space with quirky tasty restaurants guarded by a 40 foot tall dancing woman, where we meet before and after every home game.

The Park Vegas already had for example Shake Shack (properly part of NY, NY), Bruxie, Beerhaus, Sake Rok, and California Pizza Kitchen. The new Park MGM offers the popular Eataly and Best Friend by Roy Choi among others. Certainly, the popular Japanese cartoon-inspired café will fit in perfectly with the diverse and quality selection of offerings.

“I’m bringing Hello Kitty Café to the strip,” Nguyen said. “I think Sanrio recognizes who our group is as a people, and they know what we’ve done in the past. They’re going to let us apply that element… like our street element. It’s not going to be the same.”

The café will be set inside the giant pink shipping container you may have already spotted on the premises, with a menu including character-inspired croissants, and pistachio-filled Keroppi donuts (you know, named after the frog Kerokerokeroppi who lives in Donut Pond).

We wonder what kind of quality merch will also be available. We hope for something with the mischievous little penguin Badtz-Maru who loves to fight for the wrong side.
