Jimmy Kimmel celebrates the grand opening of his new Las Vegas comedy club
June 14 saw the opening of the cleverly named Jimmy Kimmel’s Comedy Club here in Las Vegas. Located on The LINQ Promenade, it is part of a sweeping set of upgrades and attractions recently added to the property, such as the virtual reality sensation of The Fantasy Dome. Kimmel, who might one day go into comedy himself, grew up in Las Vegas and is a graduate from Clark High School. He later attended UNLV, and has close ties to the community. Read more…
The future for Las Vegas Sands
It has already been rumored that Las Vegas Sands is considering a sale. What form this might take is not known, and some speculate the company could divest themselves of key properties or seek a buyout, or even merger. But no few are scratching their heads. What exactly is the company worth? Las Vegas Sands earned nearly $6.8 billion in revenue from Macau in 2018. Bitcoin and Las Vegas have same carbon footprint
Cryptocurrency is seen as a solution to many social problems, but is proving controversial. It is taking more and more criticism for its outsize use of computer resources and electricity, which are having clear impact on the environment, and souring opinion in a new environmental age. A recent audit of Bitcoin’s carbon footprint shows it is responsible for 22 megatons of CO2 emissions annually, which continues a year-over-year increase. The cheapest way to go from your hotel to McCarran
Everybody knows that the ride service industry has been changing. Traditional taxis are under fire by services like Lyft and Uber. But now there is a new option for those going from Las Vegas’ airport to the Strip, and it can cost as little as $6. This new on-demand ride-hailing program is called Trip to Strip, and is provided by the Regional Transportation Commission of Southern Nevada.
