    Las Vegas tourism marketing executive Cathy Tull has joined Cult, North America’s leading audience engagement firm, to head their new hub. With over three decades of experience in marketing and communications, including a position as Chief Marketing Officer for the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority (LVCVA) from 2005 to 2019, Tull was in high demand. She is credited with building a brand that attracts 43 million visitors a year and overcame the devastating 2017 Las Vegas mass shooting. Read more…

    With the success of the Golden Knights and Raiders, Las Vegas is looking to expand with a Major League Soccer franchise (MLS). Though the city has competition for the last spot in the league, plans are in motion to develop the necessary infrastructure and attract top talent. Fans are already abuzz at the prospect, and have been cheering the Lights to their hoped for victory in winning the spot.   • End of an age as Céline Dion wraps up residency

    Céline Dion, pop music icon and Las Vegas institution, has wrapped up her residency at Caesar’s Palace Coliseum in Las Vegas. For neigh unto 16 years, the show has been thrilling audiences, with 1,141 performances, and more than 4.5 million attendees. This is actually the second of her residencies. The first began March 25, 2003 and went through to Dec. 15, 2007, with over 700 performances, and her second premiered in March 15, 2011. Read more…
  • North Las Vegas is big on their brand new campus

    There is a new library and park coming to North Las Vegas. The purchase of three parcels of property for a $15 million Educational and Experimental Campus has been approved. This project is to include a new library and park. Unanimous approval was given Wednesday for the purchase agreement of lots along Williams Avenue. Granted during a joint meeting of the City Council and Redevelopment Agency, the news was not unexpected. Read more…
  • Las Vegas Sands hurt by Chinese downturn

    The economic slowdown in China and current U.S. trade war has hurt Las Vegas Sands stock prices, putting the company into a difficult situation. Though long-term prospects for the company remain solid, they are now at risk of potential buy-outs. Dividend yield, discounted cash flows, and multi-factor analysis are indicating that LVS is undervalued. Down by over 25% from its yearly highs, some argue the reduced spending in Macau are the main culprit, and pose only temporary shortfalls. Read more…
  • A new festival for Las Vegas, Gaming plus Music

    The Metarama Gaming + Music Festival is a new event coming to Las Vegas this October. Its organizers at C3 Presents announced on Wednesday that the festival will take place October 19-20 at the Las Vegas Festival Grounds. Showcasing the latest marquee gaming, esports, and live music talent, it will draw on the burgeoning Las Vegas gaming market. Metarama is being produced by the company behind Austin City Limits Music Festival and Lollapalooza, in partnership with Scott London and Seth Schorr from Esports Hospitality Concepts. Read more…
  • Protester bothers Bezos in Las Vegas

    Jeff Bezos, CEO and founder of Amazon, and richest man in the world, was giving an on-stage talk this Thursday in Las Vegas when he was interrupted by a protester. The woman, identified as 30-year-old Priya Sawhney of Berkeley, California, rushed the stage and yelled about chicken farms. Bezos was speaking at Amazon’s re:Mars conference being held in the Aria resort and casino. He had attended the conference to explain Amazon’s plans to provide satellite coverage and infrastructure when the woman appeared on stage. Read more…

    El Dorado Cantina, a popular Mexican restaurant here in Las Vegas, is opening its second location in Tivoli Village. This is a 6,200-square-foot restaurant serving up to 240 guests, with additional outdoor seating. True to Las Vegas, their existing location at 3025 Sammy Davis Jr. Drive is 24/7, and has become a destination for residents and tourists.   • China trade war hurts Las Vegas

    The U.S. trade war with China is heating up, and its effects may now hit Las Vegas. Warnings from China’s Ministry of Culture and Tourism came out this Tuesday, advising Chinese citizens of dangers while traveling to the United States. Beijing had its own warnings of increased scrutiny by law enforcement for Chinese nationals. “This Chinese travel warning is 100% political,” said Mike PeQueen of Hightower Financial. “It is all about discouraging Chinese from coming to the United States as tourists.
