The Grid is the new experience at Hakkasan

Always keeping at the cutting edge, Las Vegas offers a new attraction at the MGM Grand Hotel and Casino. Anyone familiar with the Strip knows the flashing lights and dazzling displays, like a volcanic eruption at the Mirage, or the Bellagio fountain. Even Lady Gaga has a water spectacle of her own. But the coolest addition is an indoor light show you have to see.

Hakkasan, the amazing mega club at the MGM Grand, unveiled a new art kinetic light installation. Called The Hakkasan Grid, the installation dominates the sprawling five levels as it showers down over the dance floor like a sci-fi movie. Responsive, the technology is designed to ebb and flow and grow and shrink to the music, enhancing the shows from celebrity DJs.

3-D printed in Germany by WHITEvoid, the Hakkasan Grid is composed of 57 triangles which use pixel-mapping and color-mixing technology. It is the largest permanent kinetic light installation in the United States. Each triangle can work individually or collectively to display colors, patterns, or images unique to the experience. The Grid is so responsive, you can tell its mood.

Completing the upgrade, guests at Hakkasan will enjoy a star-studded residency in 2019. Some of the world’s most influential DJs, including Tiësto, Zedd, and Steve Aoki, have been brought in for incredible shows. Hakkasan aims to provide something truly special, even for Las Vegas.

“The nightlife industry requires constant evolution and excellence, and we pride ourselves on consistently rising to this challenge and providing our guests with unforgettable, transformative experiences,” said James Algate, executive vice president of entertainment at Hakkasan Group. “We’re thrilled to yet again push the boundaries of nightlife with the new Hakkasan Grid. We’re confident that guests will be blown away by this futuristic, multisensory experience we’ve created.”

And if the dancing leaves you a little hungry, Hakkasan includes a restaurant serving up some of the best Cantonese food in town. Complete the experience in one of the intimate VIP lounge areas to make your night even better.

Even if you’re not a party animal, we think you should still check out The Grid. It might just become a new destination for our city.
