Mandalay Bay Beach at Mandalay Bay

— Staff Writer

Practically a water park in its own right, the award winning Mandalay Bay Beach is focused on providing a memorable aquatic experience for all guests.

Sandy beaches sit well with the tropical theme, and a 1.6 million gallon wave pool provides a fun diversion for the young and old, alike. The lagoon and quarter mile long lazy river are quite well made, visually appealing, and make use of the 11 acres of space.

With over 100 cabanas and bungalows, this is our pick for large parties. And these are not just any old covered sunbeds. These cabanas can fit as many as 10 people, and come with personal safe, plasma TV, phone, and ceiling fan. Bungalows take it one step further, with a stocked refrigerator and ample furniture. They are probably better than your first apartment.

We like the 2700 tons of real sand (but a volume value would have been more meaningful to us). I give the composition 5/5. Image: Booking.com

Come here if you are a group wanting to relax. There are plenty of things to do, while still enjoying enough privacy to talk and connect.

The three bars, and grill are also great, providing their own unique feel as well as excellent drinks and food.

The Mandalay Bay is also known as being LGBT friendly.

Families

Mandalay Bay’s massive pool complex is the most family friendly, and our number one pick for any hotel resort. The faux beach with real sand, massive wave pool, and lazy river should sell it for you. But there are also specific kid areas, including a splash zone for younger children.

Just be careful in the wave pool, as waves can hit as high as six feet. There are lifeguards, but it is better to avoid accidents before they happen.

Daylight beach club

The premier day club at Mandalay Bay, DAYLIGHT is able to make use of the sprawling 11 acres of the Beach pool area, while providing the intimate and party-focused amenities one expects of a celebrated venue. With a rich line-up of DJs and musical events, there is always something going on, which ensures guests are entertained no matter when they arrive.

The pool leads close to the stage, letting the crowd keep cool while the music happens.

If price is not an issue, Daylight offers the best bungalows of any day club, at a cool $7,000 baseline. But that will get you a private space par excellence with your own pool, right at the stage.

For bachelorette parties, Daylight is a great choice and offers some remarkable packages. Ranging from $750 to $2,000, you can get an experience that you and your friends will remember.

You may need to retreat to Moorea if the beach gets too crowded (or post up here from the beginning). I give fallback positions 5/5. Image: Mandalay Bay

Moorea Beach Club

This private day club is for adults only and provides an upscale escape from the splash factory of the beach.

Our recommendations

A hot tip is to get the in-cabana massage. Not only does it do the body good, but you will look like a highroller making everyone envious.
